I gave a short talk in Japanese about the use of Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) as a connector between Moodle LMS and Blackboard LMS. These two systems were connected and students from two institutions were able to collaborate online in a virtual classroom environment. The talk focused on the possibilities of connecting more LMSs together.
Here is the abstract from the talk:
LTI, or Learning Tools Interoperability, is the open standard by which LMSs are connected. By having a common interface between the wide range of online learning tools and systems, it is now possible to consolidate many different offerings into one locally controlled and graded environment such as Moodle. In this talk, the author will demonstrate how a main corporate rival of Moodle can suddenly become a connected associate with benefits for all.
